Donovan Aird - Sports editor
Donovan Aird has served as the Mustang Daily’s sports editor since January. Prior to that, the senior was a Mustang Daily copy editor from June 2007 to December 2007.
Born in Sacramento in 1985, Aird grew up an avid sports fan on the Central Coast, where he graduated from Paso Robles High School before earning an associate degree in transfer studies from Cuesta College.
At Cal Poly, Aird earned Dean’s Honor List distinction in the winter, spring and fall quarters of 2007. He was conferred journalism department chair leadership awards in 2007 and 2008, and the Glen H. Smith Award (for students who represent the highest level of performance in Cal Poly journalism) in 2008.
Aird, named the Mustang Daily’s Best Sports Reporter for the winter and spring quarters of 2008, maintains the “Off the Page” blog and has also covered Cal Poly sports for The Tribune, where he has interned since September 2007.
